Marywood Falls to Saint Ambrose in Florida Opener

Orlando, Fla. – Marywood's women's tennis team traveled down to Orlando for spring break where they will be competing in in five matches over the next five days. The Pacers opened with a 8-1 loss to Saint Ambrose University (Iowa).

In individual play Marywood's Danielle Ogonowski picked up the sole victory for the Pacers, beating Alex Horton (6-3, 6-3). Saint Ambrose's Emma Lang overcame Marywood's Lyndsey Medric 6-0 in the first set and 6-2 in the second. Liz Bush was also victorious for the Fighting Bees against Deena Haroun Mahdavi of Marywood (6-1, 6-0).

In doubles, Saint Ambrose continued their success when Alex Horton and Meg Chadwick teamed up against Ogonowski and Nicole Sinclair. The Saint Ambrose due won 8-3. In the second set our doubles Marywood's Emily Zarrilli and Devin Zombek lost 8-2 to Liz Bush and Shannon McEchern.

The Pacers (1-5) will face Roosevelt University on Tuesday at 8:00 am.
