Marywood Bests Lakeland, 8-5

Clermont, Fla. - Marywood University scored five runs over the opening two innings and added three more late as the Pacers down Lakeland University 8-5 in non-conference softball action.

Marywood (2-3) out-hit the Muskies 13-7 in the game.  Kirstie Alvarez went the distance again for her second win of the season. The senior hurler struck out four in the win.  She helped her own cause, going 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored.  

Jackie Burke was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Kate O'Meara also drove in two as part of her 2-for-4 game at the plate.  

Marywood will take on the University of Dubuque later this afternoon.
