Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University's women's tennis wons their second in a row against Clarks Summit University in a non-conference match up. The Pacers shut out the Defenders as a team, 9-0. Marywood improves to 4-10 as Clarks Summit falls to 2-6.
Marywood's
Danielle Ogonowski led the Pacers, winning the first set of singles 6-0, 6-1 over Veronica Hernandez.
Nicole Sinclair of Marywood had no trouble against Hannah Knapp in their first set winning 6-0 and then won her second set 6-4.
Deena Haroun Mahdavi,
Devin Zombek, and
Lyndsey Medric all bested their opponents winning 6-0 in both sets.
In doubles, Marywood continued their success as Ogonowski and
Nicole Sinclair downed their competition 8-0.
Emily Zarrilli and Zombek were faced with a challenge by Lauren Fadale and Hannah Knapp but were able to come out with the win 8-5. The team of Medric and
Brooke Panek overcame Alyssa Gawrys and Rebecca Maholic for the Pacers winning 8-3.
The Pacers look to continue their success as they travel to Penn College Saturday, April 13
th. The match is set to start at 11:00 am.
