Pacers End Season at the Hands of No. 4 Neumann

Connor Reed makes 15 saves

Aston, Pa. – Fifth-seeded Marywood University finished its season with a gut-wrenching 10-8 loss to No. 4 Neumann University Monday in the first round of the Atlantic East Conference men's lacrosse playoffs. The Pacers finish their season with a 5-11 record.
 
Eric Morin propelled the Pacers to a near-upset in the rematch between the Knights and Pacers. Morin finished with two goals, seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.
 
Zach Vaughan and Matt Mitarotonda finished with a pair of goals. Patrick Dingwell provided a goal and an assist. Zach Beja finished with a pair of assists in his final career game.
 
Vaughan, Beja and Mitatoronda each had four ground balls. Jeff Johnsen came to the rescue defensively with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
 
Connor Reed made 15 saves for the Pacers. Matt Leen made a save in 10 seconds of action.
 
Neumann's Jack Newswanger went 19 of 21 from the faceoff-x with 15 ground balls.
 
Trailing at halftime, the Pacers went ahead to start the second half. Mitaronda evened the score at 4-4 from a Beja pass. At the 9:27 mark of the third, Vaughan put the Pacers ahead with an unassisted tally.
 
Neumann responded with four straight goals and six of the next seven tallies to go ahead 10-6 with 11:42 left.
 
Marywood strung together two goals in the last four minutes. Dingwell added one with 3:56 left, and Beja finished his career with an assist to a Vaughan tally with two seconds left on the scoreboard.
