Faith Grieshaber has a hand in four of six goals

Scranton, Pa. – Top-seeded Marywood University fell to No. 2 Cabrini University for the third consecutive conference final in a 21-6 loss on Saturday in the Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse championship. The Cavaliers avenged a 15-14 loss earlier in the season.

Marywood completes its season with a 12-5 overall record.

The Pacers led 2-1 in the first six minutes before Cabrini strung together eight consecutive goals. Marywood brought the deficit to within six (10-4), and the Cavaliers responded with another eight-goal run.

Faith Grieshaber completed her collegiate career with a team-high four points. She tallied a goal and three assists to finish the year as the team's assist leader.

The Pacers' young players stepped up in the final. Ashley King totaled a pair goals. Emma Solomon scored her second career goal. Playing in her first full season, sophomore Abbie Laime had an assist. Jenna Durbin finished with three ground balls.

Melanie Wittick and Gwyneth Gleason had four ground balls. Gleason caused four turnovers.

Marywood goalkeeper Mary Leahy made 14 saves in her last game in net.

Cabrini's Emma Rodner-Tims was selected the Atlantic East Most Valuable Player. She tallied three goals, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

The Cavaliers' Avery Murphy finished with 10 points on eight goals and two assists. She contributed four caused turnovers and nine draw controls. Shea Neary had seven ground balls.
