Lightning Cancels Tied Crosstown Showdown with #25 Scranton

Scranton, Pa. - A two-hour lightning delay forced a cancelation of Marywood University's women's soccer matchup against No. 25 University of Scranton on Wednesday night. Through 17 minutes of play, the Pacers were scoreless with the nationally ranked Royals when thunderstorms forced the teams off the field.

The game will not be rescheduled. Scranton had just a 3-1 advantage in shots and a 2-1 edge in shots on target.

Bella DiToma had a pair of saves. She stopped a Grace Elliott attempt in the fifth minute. DiToma gloved a Stephanie Lowrey shot in the 12th.

Jackie VonItter's shot in the 15th minute was stymied by Amanda Steinberg.

Marywood (1-2-0) hosts FDU-Florham on Saturday.
