Pacers Rout Cannoneers, 7-2, in Battle of Velasco Brothers

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University posted their fourth win in five games in a 7-2 victory over Pratt Institute on Saturday in men's soccer action. John Velasco earned the victory over his brother Randy Velasco in the first time the two coaches have ever faced off against each other on the sidelines.

Junior Zac Lloyd scored his second career hat trick. Lloyd supplied three goals and an assist for a career-best seven points.

Sophomore Aram Aghababian scored twice in less than a minute for his first career goals. Aghababian scored in the 33rd and 34th minutes, and he added an assist for five points.

Sophomore Richard Fuchs also had a career day offensively with a goal and two assists. Fuchs had a leg in each of the Pacers' first three goals. He opened with a goal in the fifth minute from a Lloyd assist.

Senior Carlos Perez provided his team-high sixth goal of the season. Giovanni Amato added an assist.

Lloyd added his first in the 15th minute on a pair of soft touch passes from Fuchs and Jordan Pattavina-Arroyo. In the 26th, he teamed up with Fuchs again to go ahead 3-0. Lloyd notched the hat trick in the 48th minute.

Mike Gallagher earned the victory with two saves.

Pratt's Jared Rice scored twice to spoil the clean sheet. After adding the first goal in the 70th minute, Rich completed a nifty bicycle kick on a rebounded save in the 90th minute.

Marywood (4-6) is idle until hosting Hood College on Oct. 5 in the penultimate game of a six-game homestand.
