Lancaster, Pa. – Following extensive discussions and planning, the Atlantic East Conference Presidents' Council supported a recommendation from the NCAA Division III Administrative Council to postpone competition for the remainder of the Fall 2020 semester.
All sports with previous competition schedules prior to January of 2021 will be postponed, including basketball and swimming and diving. Opportunities for competition for these sports as well as fall sports will be reconsidered for the spring semester.
The Atlantic East remains focused on providing meaningful experiences for all student-athletes in the fall of 2020 which will include opportunities for practice, small-group training, skill development, strength and conditioning and leadership programming.
The conference will continue to monitor the landscape and conditions surrounding the pandemic, locally, regionally and nationally. The Atlantic East Presidents' Council will reconvene in mid-November to make any decisions or announcements regarding its spring semester competition, as necessary.
