Field Hockey Ends Season with ECAC Loss at Misericordia

Dallas Twp., Pa. — Marywood University had its field hockey season come to a halt in a 3-0 loss to Misericordia University Saturday in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) first round. The Pacers finish their season with an even 10-10 record.

Misericordia's Olivia Kempf had a pair of goals scored to open the game. In the 18th minute, after a ball into the circle was not corralled, she passed a defender at the doorstep to put it into the cage. Five minutes later, Kempf struck a Lily Metress-centered pass in for goal.

Misericordia out-shot the Pacers 18-3 with a 5-0 advantage in shots on target. The Cougars (14-7) had a 10-3 distinction in penalty corners.

Meghan Radnoff completed the Cougars' scoring with a tally in the 47th minute. A shot off of a defender was rebounded past the goal line.

Rachel Yohn made a pair of saves. Marywood had a par of chances in the opening minutes of the second half but both attempts did not reach the cageminder.

The Cougars will take on Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham in the semifinal. The Devils defeated Atlantic East Conference champion Cabrini University 2-1 with a late penalty shot goal.
