Volleyball Bids Farewell to Compton, Kelley on Senior Night

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University volleyball closed its season with a pair of losses to Atlantic East Conference foe Neumann University on Tuesday. The Pacers fell to the Knights in four sets in the opener and swept in three sets in the nightcap. 

Marywood fell to the Knights by scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-21, 26-24. Neumann prevailed 25-15, 25-14, 25-16 in the second match. 

The Pacers bid farewell to the careers of seniors Sam Compton and Brenna Kelley. 

In the opening match, Rebecca Klemovitch led the Pacers with seven kills and a .313 attack percentage. She had eight saves and 3.5 blocks for an 18.5-point effort. 

Compton finished with 12 digs and six kills. Kelley added 23 assists at the setter position. Evangeline Kelly produced seven digs, and Amanda Perri had six kills and six digs. 

In the second match, Compton tallied six kills. Casey Hagerstom tallied five kills. Kelley had 14 assists. 

Neumann's Ariana Pena had 13 kills in the opener. Lauren Garvey notched 12 kills, and Bre Hickey added 19 kills. Libero Reagan Walkers manufactured 18 digs. 

The Knights' Hickey and Maria Brown tied for 11 kills in the second match. Catie Esslinger factored in with 32 sets and eight digs.
