Reed Breaks Saves Record in Loss to Defending Champion Cavaliers

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University led defending NCAA Division III champion Cabrini University in the second period before the Cavaliers prevailed for a 15-7 victory in Atlantic East Conference men's lacrosse action. In a battle of the two remaining undefeated teams in conference play, Marywood suffered its first Atlantic East loss of the season.
 
Connor Reed set a Marywood single-game record with 28 saves. Reed also provided an assist and nine ground balls. Reed broke the school record of 25 stops.
 
Zach Vaughan gave the Pacers a 3-2 lead in the early second period. Vaughan redirected a Brad Gelles pass to go ahead at the 12:56 mark. Forty-eight seconds earlier, Aiden Kilkenny evened the score at 2-2 from a Jeff Johnsen pass. Cabrini responded with 10 unanswered goals.
 
Aiden Kilkenny had a career-best performance with four goals. Jeff Johnsen posted a goal and an assist.
 
On defense, Seth Croll tallied seven ground balls. Joseph Guida, Zach Bradbury and Vaughan finished with four ground balls.
 
Cabrini received a six-goal, two-assist effort from Matt Loptaro. Ty Kostack provided three goals and two assists for five points.
