Pacers Even Conference Record with Wins at Immaculata

Immaculata, Pa. - Marywood University softball picked up two key wins at Immaculata University Wednesday afternoon. The Pacers (5-3) evened their Atlantic East Conference record at 3-3 with 6-2 and 7-5 wins over the Mighty Macs. Baltrusaitis was 4-for-4 with four RBI and a double and homer in the pair of wins.

The Pacers opened the scoring in the opener on a Hailey Rapisardi RBI single down the left field line that scored Caitlin Becher.  Later in the inning, Baltrusaitis and Juliana Beidler were hit by a pitches in back-to-back at-bats with the bases loaded that forced two runs in as Marywood grabbed an early 3-0 lead.

In the fourth, Beidler reached on an error that allowed Baltrusaitis to score, and would later score on a throw down to second from Immaculata's catcher when a Marywood runner attempted to steal.

In the fifth, Baltrusaitis brought in yet another run with a single to left, scoring Kaitlin Epler to make it 6-0.  Immmaculata (3-11, 3-11 AEC) plated a single run in each of the final two innings to spoil the shutout.

In a tighter game two, Marywood went up 4-0 in the first highlighted by a two-run Baltrusaitis homerun. Immaculata closed the Marywood lead to 4-3 with a two-run homer of their own in the home half of the first, and would take a 5-4 lead on a two-run double in the fourth.

Rae Hatala hit her first collegiate homer in the top of the fourth to tie the game up for Marywood, and Rapisardi would put the Pacers back on top 6-5 with an RBI single to center later in the inning.

Becca Zayle came through with an RBI groundout in the top of the sixth to score Baltrusaitis and give the Pacers an insurance run.
