Marywood White Edges Green in OT on Mulvey Golden Goal, Senior Day

Scranton, Pa. - Meaghan Mulvey scored a golden goal a few minutes into the first overtime period to lift Marywood "white" over Marywood "green" Sunday afternoon on women's soccer senior day. The Pacers honored seniors Olivia Minniti, Cara Romaniello, Samantha Rivera, Danielle Shields, Molly Sobolewski, Haley Taylor and Taylor Yacuboski prior to and after the intrasquad exhibition matchup.

Yacuboski opened the scoring for the white team by bending a corner kick directly into the front post at the 15:42 mark. The score would remain in favor of white for another ten minutes until freshman Victoria Tzitzis netted back-to-back breakaway goals for green, giving the "visitors" a 2-1 lead at intermission.

Late in the second half, Antonella Doglio tied things up by ripping a shot that hit off the crossbar and deflecting off the goalkeeper into the next.

Mulvey's heroics came only two minutes into the first extra frame as she took a pass from Rivera and before slotting the keeper for the game-winner.

The Pacers (1-1) will close out their abbreviated spring season next Sunday with 12:00 game against Cairn University.
