Pacers Fall to Saints in Atlantic East Semifinal

Arlington, Va. – Marywood University's season came to a close with a 16-8 loss to Marymount University Wednesday in the Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse semifinal. The second-seeded Saints will travel to Cabrini University for the championship.
 
Kayla McCabe finished with four points on a goal and three assists. Natalie Walker had a hat trick, and Emma Solomon finished with two goals and an assist.
 
Melanie Wittick provided 10 draw controls. Brielle Peters had four ground balls and four draw controls.
 
Marymount was led by Sarah Agrillo with six goals and two assists for eight points. Caitlyn Dunn provided six ground balls and four caused turnovers.
 
The Pacers (5-3) led throughout most of the first 15 minutes of the first half. Solomon and Peters opened with back-to-back goals in the first 5:13 of the game. Agrillo scored back-to-back goals to even the score within a 35-second time frame.
 
McCabe found Walker for a strike to put the Pacers on top 3-2 at the 19:13 mark of the first half. The Pacers and Saints traded leads until McCabe evened the score at 5-5 with 9:04 remaining.
 
Marymount went on a six-goal run over a 15-minute stretch to take an 11-5 lead.
 
The Saints out-shot Marywood 28-19, and the Pacers committed 20 turnovers to the Saints' nine.
 
Emily Dyminski made 10 saves in a losing effort.
