Pacers Sweep Giants, Warriors in Three

Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University swept its first home volleyball tri-match of the season with three-set victories over Keystone College and Lycoming College on Saturday. The Pacers improved their record to 5-3 overall on the season.
 
Marywood won the first match against the Giants by scores of 25-12, 25-9, 25-11. The Pacers downed the Warriors by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.
 
Game 1: Marywood 3, Keystone 0
 
Casey Hagerstrom led the Pacers with seven kills, zero errors and a .636 attack percentage. Amanda Perri finished without any errors, totaling six kills and a .667 hitting percentage.
 
Sara Burgos totaled 21 assists, six aces and six digs. Donna Bostjancic gathered eight digs.
 
Marywood held on to an 18-2 advantage in aces. The Pacers shot .266 to the Giants' minus-.067.
 
Emilee Schmidt led the Giants with five kills. Haley Wittenberg had eight digs.
 
Game 2: Marywood 3, Lycoming 0
 
Shannon Corr had a team-high 10 kills with two aces and two block assists. Both Hagerstrom and Rebecca Klemovitch finished with eight kills and just one error with hitting percentages above .400.
 
Emily O'Brien had five kills with a .400 hitting percentage.
 
Burgos finished with 33 assists and nine digs. Donna Bostjancic tallied 16 digs, and Annie Heyen picked up 10 digs.
 
Marywood had a .207 attack percentage to the Warriors' .087.
 
Lycoming (5-3) was led by Elizabeth Kelson with nine kills. Kendall Myers provided 17 digs, and Megan Starkweather generated 21 assists.
 
Marywood travels to Moravian University on Wednesday.
