Relays Impress at Susquehanna

Selinsgrove, Pa. - The Marywood University men's indoor track and field 4x200 team finished in second place at the Susquehanna University Multi and Invitational on Saturday. The Pacers were the top Division III team in the race.

The foursome of Noah Schock, George Thompson, Ryan Benedict and Noah Zeigler completed the race with a time of 1:36.61. The Pacers were 1.19 seconds behind the winning Bloomsburg team.

Marywood finished ahead of Penn State Club, Johns Hopkins, King's, Lock Haven and Stevenson.

Thompson recorded the second-fastest 60 hurdles time in school history. After breaking through in preliminaries, Thompson finished in fifth place with a finals time of 8.97 seconds. He improved his career-best by 19-hundredths of a second.

Benedict set a PR in the high jump with an eighth place performance. Benedict cleared 5 feet, 6 1/2 inches (1.69m).

Jack Baronski notched the second-best 800 time in the Marywood record books. Baronski finished fourth out of 19 runners with a time of 2:04.5.

Ian Kovatch placed sixth in the 5K. Kovatch crossed the finish line in 16:36.08, good for No. 4 in school history.

In other notable PRs, Travis Bahl dropped 16-hundredths off his personal best to finish the 400 in 1:04.17. Rasheed Sexius-Clerie ran 83-hundredths of a second off his 200 PR to finish in 25.36 seconds.

Marywood had three PRs in the shot put. Christian Figalora extended his PR by 7 inches with a total distance of 10.23 meters. Will Kalinich had more than an 8-inch improvement with hurl of 10.15m. Ryan Mathews' throw measured at 10.01 meters (32-10.25) to increase his career best by 6 1/2 inches.

The Pacers will compete next at The Armory track in New York City on Friday, Feb. 4.
