Men's Soccer Eliminated by Cabrini in Atlantic East First Round

Richard Fuchs scores eighth of the season

Radnor, Pa. — Sixth-seeded Marywood University concluded its season with a 4-2 loss to No. 3 Cabrini University on Saturday in the Atlantic East Conference men's soccer first round. The Pacers wrap up their season with a 7-11 record. 

Richard Fuchs scored his team-best eighth goal of the season. Kyle Falcon finished with a goal, and Chris Valdes recorded an assist. 

Cabrini went ahead early with an 18 minute minute goal. Tyler Tomlin tallied a goal off a Nick Booth corner kick. The Cavaliers answered again six minutes later. On a restart after a yellow card, Dominic Petruzzelli finished a Tyler Jankowski free kick. 

Fuchs cut the Cavaliers' lead in half in the 33rd minute. Fuchs converted a penalty kick. 

In the second half, Nick Booth increased the Cavs' lead back to two. He blasted a Nick LoBiondo pass from the right side in the 50th minute. 

Falcon put the Pacers back in contention with a 66th minute goal. He directed a Valdes free kick in front of goal to make a 3-2 contest. 

Cabrini added another in the 80th minute on a Matt Kekatos goal. He snuck on just into the right corner from a Brian Sharkey pass. 

Cabrini outshot Marywood by a 21-7 margin (13-4 on target). The Cavs had a nine-to-nil advantage in corners.
