Kelly Breaks Another; 4x400 Relay Takes Down Record at Cornell

Ithaca, N.Y. — Just a week after setting his first individual Marywood University men's indoor track and field record, Michael Kelly was at it again with an individual and relay school record at Cornell University's Deneault Invitational. The Pacers also competed at Susquehanna University this weekend.

Kelly set a new school record in the 600 and was part of a record-setting 4x400 relay team. In the former, Kelly finished second out of 11 runners with a time of 1:26.67, breaking the previous mark by five seconds.

He was also part of the 4x400 relay that took third place. Kelly teamed with George Thompson (Montrose), Ryan Benedict and Noah Schock to finish in 3:33.91.

Jack Baronski ran an AARTFC-qualifying time in the 3K. Baronski was the third-fastest among 25 collegiate runners. His time of 8:46.09 set a new PR by 19 seconds and stands as the No. 2 run in Marywood history.

Teammate John Russo was third behind Kelly in the 600 with a 1:28.37 finish. He took 10th in the 1,000 with a 2:47.62 for the third-best time at Marywood.

Noah Zeigler ran two Top 3 times in Marywood history. He placed seventh in the 300, crossing the finish in 37.3 seconds for the second-fastest ever in program history. Zeigler broke his PR by 11-hundredths of a second to finish the 60 dash in 7.27 seconds, good for 10th in the race and third at Marywood.

Schock finished in fifth place in the 500. He clocked in at 1:11 for the No. 3 time at Marywood.

A pair of 60-meter hurdlers also made their mark on the record books. Thompson came in 10th place in 8.9 seconds, and Benedict crossed the finish in 9.35 seconds for 14th place. Together, they are the second and fifth fastest 60 hurdles times at Marywood. Thompson dropped two-hundredths of a second off his PR, and Benedict trimmed .58 seconds off his career best.

Will Kalinich set a new PR  in the shot put with a distance of 35-0.25 (10.67m). Christian Scotti had the fifth-best 600 performance in green-and-gold with a sixth-place run of 1:33.19 in the 600.

At Susquehanna, Blake Nickel recorded a pair of personal records. He ran better by 29-hundredths of a second to finish with a 59.62-second performance in the 400, and he dropped 1.72 seconds in the 800.
