Slow Start Stymies Pacers at Misericordia

Dallas, Pa. — Marywood University was unable to get out of a slow first-half start in a 15-9 loss to Misericordia University on Tuesday in non-conference women's lacrosse action. After opening the season with three straight wins, the Pacers have lost the past two contests. 

Emma Solomon set new career highs with five goals and six points. Solomon contributed on both ends of the field with five ground balls. 

Goalkeeper Emily Dyminski also set a new career best with an 18-save effort. She collected four ground balls. 

Kayla McCabe accounted for the rest of the Pacers' scoring with four goals, adding four draw controls. 

Ashley Cunnigham had a team-high five draw controls. Alaina Brenneman provided four draws. Defensively, Kilie Wyers caused a pair of turnovers. 

Misericordia's Michelle Torzilli scored nine goals. 

The Pacers (3-2) outscored the Cougars by a 5-2 margin in the second half. Emma Solomon scored four unanswered goals to trim a nine-goal third quarter deficit to just 14-9 with less than five minutes remaining. 

Marywood faces a road trip with games on back-to-back days. The Pacers head to Newburgh, N.Y. to take on Mount Saint Mary College on Friday. Marywood travels to the Newark, N.J. area to face Kean University on Saturday.
