Baronski Wins 1,500 at Chilly Susquehanna Meet

Selinsgrove, Pa. - Marywood University freshman Jack Baronski won the 1,500 at Susquehanna University's Jim Taylor Invitational this weekend. It marked the second time Baronski has won an event at an outdoor track and field meet this season.

Baronski was the fastest in a 97-man field. He completed the race in 4:00.49. Baronski's time was the second-best in Marywood history and qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships (AARFTC) in May.

The Pacers had a pair of Top 5 performances in the 800. Thomas Lee ran the second-best time in school history in a 22nd place run of 2:02.1. John Russo registered fourth in the record books with a 28th place finish of 2:03.47.

Adam Kanterman came in 15th place in the 10K. He completed the race in 34:33 as the third-best time for any Marywood student-athlete.

In the throws, Will Kalinich set a pair of PRs. He set a new best in the javelin by over 8 feet. Kalinich measured at 139 feet, 2 inches (42.41m) for 25th place. He also set a PR of 34-11.25 (10.65m) in the shot put.

Senior Ryan Mathews increased his hammer throw PR by more than 6 feet. He reached 109 feet, 11 inches for 28th place overall.

Other personal records included Rasheed Sexius-Clerie (25.11) in the 200 dash and Mariano Casciotti (11:29) in the 3K Steeplechase.

Marywood will compete on Friday at Widener.
