Men's Tennis Falters in Spring Debut at King's

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - King's College downed Marywood's men's tennis 9-0 in the Pacers' spring debut Wednesday afternoon at Kirby Park.

Marywood dropped a 8-2 decision at number one-doubles as Eddie McGreevy and James Cawley fell to Logan Gregory and Tommy Hallahan.  At two-doubles, Stefano Varela-Seri had to withdraw due to a back injury as he and partner David Chemidlin fell 5-2.  Hunter Talipski and Max Burke fell 8-3 at three-doubles to Cody Zheng and Jacob Nelson.

After forfeiting six-singles, Marywood could not rebound in one-through-five action. McGreevy fell to Gregory 6-1, 6-1 in the top singles flight, while Cawley fell by an identical score to Hallahan at two-singles.  

Patrick Pech picked up a win at three-singles for King's with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 win over Chemidlin, and Aidan Temple beat Talipski 6-0, 6-0 at four-singles.  Zheng closed out the win for the Monarchs with a 7-5, 3-6, 10-1 win over Burke at five-singles. 

Marywood returns to the courts Sunday when they open Atlantic East Conference play with a 1:00 pm match agianst Immaculata in Scranton.
