Men's DMR Takes Sixth at AARFTC Regionals; Two Women's Records Set

Rochester, N.Y. - Marywood University finished in sixth place in the men's Distance Medley Relay this weekend at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference championships. The meet was held at Nazareth College between Division III teams in the Metro, Mideast, Mid-Atlantic and Niagara regions.

Marywood finished in 30th place overall out of 32 scoring men's programs. The Pacers' women's team broke a pair of school records at the competition.

Thomas Lee, Noah Schock, Michael Kelly and Jack Baronski finished in sixth place in the DMR with a time of 10:33.12. Kelly ran the fifth-fastest 800 leg, and Baronski recorded the fourth-best 1,600 split.

Both of Marywood's female entries set new school records.

In the 4 x 200, the foursome of Awnshaé Smith, Madi Howell, Chesna Andrade-Foster and Maryam Hamidi set a new school standard of 1:51.34. They finished in 11th place overall.

Smith broke her previous triple jump record that was set at the 2020 AARFTC Regional Championships. She jumped a distance of 35 feet, 6 1/2 inches (10.83m) to earn 14th place. Smith improved her AARFTC performance by eight places and 17-hundredths of a meter.

Baronski came in 19th place in the men's 3K race. He passed the finish line in 8:45.45 to take 19th place. He dropped 64-hundredths of a second off his PR. Baronski was also 17th place in the milem running the race in 4:26.2.

George Thompson came in 16th place in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.81 seconds.

The Pacers' 4 x 200 relay of Noah Zeigler, Thompson, Ryan Benedict and Schock came in ninth place at 1:33.74.

Marywood's outdoor track and field season begins in two weeks.
