Women's Tennis Blanks Cabrini, 9-0

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University women's tennis picked up their second Atlantic East Conference win in as many days as the Pacers (8-7) defeated visiting Cabrini University 9-0 Thursday afternoon in Scranton.

Cabrini fell to 4-7 (1-3 AEC) with the loss.

Faith Kendricks and Karah Laboranti dispatched of their doubles competition 8-0 in the two-doubles slot to start the match off right for Marywood. Allison Bashore and partner Gabriella Nowak earned an 8-2 win at one-singles, and Elsa Kovatch and Lyndsey Medric put Marywood up 3-0 with a 8-3 win at three-doubles.

In singles play, Bashore dominated Raechel Aviles, 6-0, 6-0 at one-singles. Kendricks was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at three-singles to secure the match with the fifth point for the Pacers.  

Nowak then defeated her two-singles opponent 6-1, 6-0, and Laboranti picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win at five-singles.  Medric was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Kara Bradl at four-singles, while Gianna Snell earned a hard-fought win over Ashley Tutzauer 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 1-0 (11-9) at six-singles.

The Pacers improved to 4-0 in league play and will take on Marymount University (4-1 AEC) for the right to be the top-seed in the AEC postseason tournament. The Pacers and Saints will square off Saturday at 1:00 pm in a thrilling regular season finale.
