Jake Schuster connects for three of the Pacers' seven hits

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University fell to Cabrini University 9-1 Friday in the first game of the Atlantic East Conference baseball series. The teams will face in a doubleheader on Saturday in Radnor. 

The Cavaliers scored nine unanswered runs after the Pacers went ahead in the first inning. 

Jake Schuster finished 3 for 4 with an RBI, double and stolen base. Vinny D'Auria scored the Pacers' lone run following a triple in the first. 

The Cavaliers capitalized on four Marywood errors that spawned a pair of unearned runs. Cabrini tallied nine stolen bases. 

Joseph Bruno went 4 2/3 innings with three earned runs. He struck out six and allowed four hits. 

Marywood took an early lead in the bottom of the first. D'Auria led off with a triple, and Schuster doubled to right field to tally the run. 

Cabrini took the lead in the second inning. Sean Glatts singled through the left side to bring in Garrett Laraia and Zack Brook. 

The Cavaliers' starter Jonathan Baker went seven strong with 10 strikeouts. He allowed five hits and one earned run.
