Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Vassar

Hayley Gaines placed 13th out of 93 runners on the 5K course

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Marywood University placed fourth out of 10 teams Saturday at Vassar College's Ron Stonitsch Invitational. With 121 points, the Pacers ran an average time of 21:26 on the 5K course.

Hayley Gaines was the Pacers' top finisher in 13th place Gaines ran a time of 20:42. She ran 57 seconds faster than her previous 5K best.

The duo of Kaitlyn Newberry (21:28) and Alyssa Williams (21:29) finished neck-and-neck in 25th and 26th places, respectively. Williams beat her PR by 1:19.

Paige Redman finished with a time of 21:37 for 32nd place. Just behind her, Taylor Seprosky clocked in with a time of 21:52.

Molly Repecki registered a time of 22:10 for 39th place. Gabby Snee was 42nd with a time of 22:21.

Notably, Maria Castaldi dropped three minutes off of her PR to finish in a time of 23:23. Maddie Gentile (23:39), Zoe Badner (24:54) and Saige Sterner (26:15) ran for Marywood.

The Pacers will next compete at this year's NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional site on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Lock Haven.
