Pacers Unable to Outdo Bulldogs in 2-0 Loss

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University was unable to find the back of the cage in a 2-0 loss to DeSales University on Tuesday in non-conference field hockey action. The Pacers were shut out despite having a significant advantage in penalty corners. 

Tyra Wingle found the back of the net twice for the Bulldogs. Caroline McGrath and Jordyne Stong had assists. 

Wingle scored first in the fourth and later in the 18th minute of play. 

DeSales had an 11-8 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in shots on target. Marywood led the penalty corner game by a 9-5 margin. 

Rachel Yohn finished with four saves, and her counterpart Kayla Yeatman had a clean sheet with three stops. Corrin Hasty factored in with a defensive save. 

Marywood travels to No. 9 Kean University on Saturday.
