Volleyball Comes Short to Lions in Four

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University dropped a back-and-forth tussle with Penn State Harrisburg in women's volleyball on Tuesday evening. The Pacers fell in four sets to the Lions by scores of 25-16, 24-26, 30-28, 25-16.
 
Marywood had 10 kills and four blocks from Casey Hagerstrom. Shannon Corr finished with seven kills, 11 digs and 11 blocks.
 
Libby Smith produced five aces and 12 digs. Mikayla Meek tallied 13 digs, 15 assists and eight kills.
 
Sydney Steiner factored in with 13 assists.
 
Penn State Harrisburg had 48 assists from Alyssa Snyder. Anna Ruff and Tiniira Tubo each led the Lions offensively with 13 kills.
 
After dropping the first set, Marywood rebounded to take the second. Tied 24-24, Marywood produced set point on an attack error. Hagerstrom and Corr had a double block to secure the 26-24 win.
 
Marywood led 14-7 in the third set. On Tubo serves, the Lions scored eight straight points, taking a 15-14 lead on a Carolina Hernandez kill. The Pacers trailed 20-16 before Corr tallied a pair of points on a kill and an ace. Corr had a kill to get set point at 25-24. Meek evened the score at 26-26. The Lions won 30-28 on an attack error.
 
The Lions shot .141 for the match to the Pacers' .014 mark.
 
Marywood travels to Cazenovia College on Thursday evening,
