Men's Soccer Eliminated by Cabrini in Atlantic East Semifinal Match

Kyle Falcon records fifth goal of the season

Radnor, Pa. – The third-seeded Marywood University Pacers concluded its season with a 2-1 loss to No. 2 Cabrini University Tuesday in the Atlantic East Conference men's soccer semifinal

After a scoreless 33 minutes, Cabrini netted the first goal of the match in the 34th. The goal came on a penalty kick, off the boot of Matt Duddy, who placed it in the bottom right corner past a diving Alex Russo. The tally put the Cavaliers up 1-0, and it would stay that way into the half. 

In the 78th minute of play, Cabrini added to their lead thanks to an own goal by the Pacers. The score put the Cavaliers up 2-0.

The Pacers were able to get one back in the 86th minute when pressure from Kyle Falcon forced a turnover and scored from just outside the box. 

Marywood kept applying the heat, maintaining possession for the majority of the last three minutes. In the 90th minute, Marywood was awarded a free kick, but was unable to execute. 

The Pacers recorded seven total shots, three on goal. Cabrini was able to record nine total shots, with four on goal. 

Russo recorded three saves for the Pacers, while Cavaliers' keeper, MJ Graham, recorded two. 

Both teams were granted four corner kicks a piece. 

The loss brings the Pacers' season to a close, where they finish with a final record of 8-9-2.
