Pacers Bring Home a 72-66 Win Over Rutgers-Newark

Griscavage records a double-double

Newark, N.J. — Marywood University held off Rutgers-Newark for a 72-66 victory Saturday in non-conference women's basketball. The Pacers end a three-game slide and move to 2-3 on the season.

After a back and forth second quarter, having six different lead changes, the Pacers took a 36-35 lead into halftime. Marywood kept on the gas to hold on for the win. 

The Pacers were led offensively by freshman Alli Griscavage, who put up 19 points on 7-14 (50%) shooting. Griscavage grabbed 11 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double.

Faith Kendricks had 11 points. Rachel McDonald led the Pacers with eight assists. 

As a team, the Pacers shot 27-64 (42.2%) from the floor, including 8-20 (40.0%) from behind the arc, as well as 10-21 (47.6%) from the charity stripe. 

The Scarlet Raiders didn't fare as well shooting, going 29-71 (40.8%) in total, and 5-18 (27.8%) from three. 

Marywood looks to build off of this win in their next matchup on Tuesday at Keystone College.
