Men's Basketball's Season Ends with First Round Setback to Griffins

Marywood finishes with program records for assists, 3-pointers made

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. — Sixth-seeded Marywood University was unable to escape the Atlantic East Conference men's basketball first round with a 95-75 loss to No. 3 Gwynedd Mercy University on Monday. The Pacers finish their season with a 10-16 overall record. 

Brendan Franko led Marywood with 16 points on an 8 for 14 effort from the field. Brandon Reed scored 15 points. 

Jason Holman finished with 13 points. He ends his Marywood career with 961 points. 

Marywood ends the season with program records for the most 3-pointers (296) and assists (543). The Pacers hit 10 3-pointers and totaled 23 assists on Monday. 

Thomas Brown came off the bench to score 21 points for the Griffins. Dom Thomas had 19 points for Gwynedd Mercy. DJ Johnson (18), JoHaan Vinson (16) and Manny Clark (11) were in double figures.
