Cavaliers Trample Pacers in Atlantic East Opener

Radnor, Pa. — Marywood University had its three-game winning streak come to a halt in a 21-3 loss to Cabrini University on Saturday in the Atlantic East Conference men's lacrosse opener. 

Dillon Kane led the Pacers with two goals.

The first half of the game was entirely dominated by the Cavaliers as they outscored the Pacers 13-0.

Cabrini's Matt Vanaman opened up the third quarter off an assist from Tommy Vaughan to lead the Pacers 14-0. Kane responded with his first of the game off an assist from Aiden Kilkenny to put the Pacers on the board. Cabrini responded with two goals from Jake Goss and Bryan Rafferty. On a man-up opportunity, Kane found his second of the game off an assist from Kilkenny to trail by 11. Ben Pizzarello scored unassisted just one minute later. With just two minutes left in the third quarter, Dillon McManus scored on a man-up opportunity.

The Cavaliers led the Pacers in the final quarter of regulation to claim the 17 goal lead.

Pizzarello finished with one goal, while Kilkenny tallied two assists.

Colin Trainor had 14 saves in the loss.

The Pacers will travel to Morrisville State University Tuesday.
