Notari Shines in Season Finale

Adam Ginsberg drives in four of Pacers' 10 runs

Scranton, Pa. — Senior Nick Notari wrapped up his Marywood University career by leading the Pacers to a 10-1 win over Clarks Summit University on Thursday in the non-conference baseball season. The Pacers finish their season with a 15-23 record overall. 

Notari went 7 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run. Notari finished with three strikeouts and yielded six hits. 

Adam Ginsberg drove in four RBIs. He went 2 for 4 with a run, walk, and stolen base. Christian Michak went 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI. Michak swiped one base to finish the season with a school record 30 stolen bases. 

Vinny D'Auria wrapped up his career with a 1 for 4 effort with two RBIs, a run and a stolen base. D'Auria finishes his career with 115 hits, 62 RBIs, and 33 stolen bases. 

Seniors Robert Egan and Quinton Roma provided offensive support at the bottom of the lineup. Egan thrived in his newfound starting role with a 1 for 2 effort with two runs and two walks. Roma scored three times as part of a 2 for 3 performance. 
 
Kyle Morin reached three times with a run and an RBI. James Myers hit a double. 

Seniors Aaron Gutierrez and Tyler Quick provided relief effort. Gutierrez struck out batters in two-thirds of an inning. Quick threw a perfect ninth inning. 

Both teams were scoreless until Marywood plated five runs in the third inning. Ginbserg ended the impasse with a bases-loaded single to center field that drove in two runs. Michak scored on a wild pitch. D'Auria knocked a single to left field that scored two runs for a 5-0 lead. 

Marywood scored the first eight runs of the game. 

Clarks Summit's Nick Tutton was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a walk. The Defenders' shortstop Tanner Smith played masterful defense with 11 assists.
