Volleyball Swept in Second Day of Oswego Tournament

Oswego, N.Y. — Marywood University lost in three sets to Utica and Wheaton (Mass.) on Saturday in the second day of the Oswego State women's volleyball tournament. The Pacers finish their opening matches with a 1-2 record. 

Utica 3, Marywood 0

Marywood lost to the Pioneers by identical 25-22, 25-22, 25-22 scores. 

The Pacers hit .102 for the match to the Pioneers' .149 mark. Marywood was edged 83-81 in digs and 38-32 in assists. The Pacers had a 7-6 advantage in aces. 

Libby Smith led the Pacers with 10 kills and a .241 hitting percentage. Mikayla Meek had eight kills with a .278 attack percentage. She added 12 assists and nine digs. 

Defensively, Gianna Norton tallied 27 digs. Haley Hallman provided 11 digs. Jaedyn Laws secured 14 assists. 

Wheaton (Mass.) 3, Marywood 0

Wheaton went on to a three-set win by 25-13, 25-17, 25-13 scores. 

Gianna Norton had 12 digs for the Pacers. 

Wheaton's Sydney Lyon had 11 kills, 12 digs and a .474 attack percentage. 

Marywood will be back in action on Tuesday at Clarks Summit.
