Men's Soccer Shut Down by Green Terror for First Loss

Westminster, Md. — Marywood University suffered its first men's soccer setback in a 3-0 loss to McDaniel College Wednesday. The Pacers' record falls to 2-1 on the season.

The Green Terror (2-0-1) have yet to allow a goal in three games this season, extending their scoreless streak to 270 minutes.

McDaniel scored twice in the opening 22nd minutes. In the 14th minute, AJ Nordone created space just outside the box and attacked towards the center of the field. Carver Neary found an opening in the defense and posted up for a pass, turning and ripping a shot past the keeper towards the far post for his first goal of the season.

In the 21st minute, Marywood (2-1-0) took its first shot, but it sailed wide. Of the 11 shots taken by the Pacers, only one was on target and that was stopped by Austin Held. A few minutes later, Jorge Herrera had possession deep in the box where his shot was deflected out towards the edge of the 18-yard line. Brandon Morse blasted one towards the upper corner to put the Green Terror up by two.

With a two-goal lead coming out of the locker room, both teams battled for possession near the midfield stripe.

Parks Tolton capped the Green Terror scoring with 12 seconds remaining in regulation.

Marywood goalkeeper Alex Russo finished with one save.

The Pacers head to SUNY Delhi on Saturday.
