Ryder Breaks Long-Standing 5K Record

Marywood men finish in 7th place overall

Scranton, Pa. -- Marywood University track and field sophomore Bryce Ryder broke a long-standing men's 5K record Saturday at Ursinus College's Collegeville Classic.

Ryder broke David Haines' 5K record with a time of 14:55.38. His time beat the 2018 mark by 14 seconds. Michael McCann also beat out Haines' previously standing mark with a time of 15:07.

Marywood had the top four spots in the 12-man 5K field. Ryder finished in first place ahead of McCann. Ben Devine (15:17.13) and Joseph Cardillo (15:48.34) were third and fourth place, respectively.

Raidan Francis registered the third-quickest men's 800 time in school history. He finished with a mark of 2:00.4 for third place overall.

KC Nwokedi joined the Marywood record books for the first time. He measured a shot put at 39 feet, 3 inches (11.96m) for 12th place. Will Kalinich scored a point for the Pacers with a mark of 40 feet, 2 1/4 inches (12.25m) that was good for eighth place.

Tyler Hoysan tied his PR in the men's 60 hurdles. Hoysan raced to a 9.06-second finish int he finals for eighth place.

Tucker Indikovic came in sixth place with a triple jump that measured at 36 feet, 3 1/2 inches (11.06m).

Abby Megotz came in eighth place with a time of 1:06.17 in the 400. Megotz moved to third all-time at Marywood.

The women's 4x400 relay of Jocelyn Dames, Hayley Gaines, Cydney Lahr and Megotz came in sixth place. The Pacers' foursome clocked in at a time of 4:41.25.

Marywood's men's team finished in seventh place out of 13 teams. The Pacers' women were 13th place.

The Pacers head to Haverford College on Saturday, Jan. 27.
