Men's Basketball Falls at Gwynedd Mercy

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. -- Marywood University fell to Gwynedd Mercy University 99-77 on Wednesday in Atlantic East Conference men's basketball action. In a battle between two teams tied for third place, the Pacers fall to 8-10 overall and 3-3 in conference play. 

The Pacers were led by Brendan Franko's 18 points and seven rebounds. He shot 5 for 10 from the field. 

Collin Himmelberg finished with 17 points, and Austin Bausman factored in with 13 points. 

The Griffins featured all five starters in double figures. Mike Marable shot 9 for 10 from the field for 20 points. Aziz Parker scored 19 points. Dom Thomas (13), Aquil Stewart (11) and JoHaan Vinson (10) also contributed for the Griffins. 

Gwynedd Mercy shot 61.1 percent from the field, holding the Pacers to 32.3 percent shooting. Marywood was successful from the charity stripe, connecting on 26 of 30 free throws at a 86.7 percent clip. 

Marywood is traveling to Marymount University on Saturday.
