Marywood Falls in Back and Forth Battle Against Immaculata

Klemick records career-high 13 rebounds

Scranton, Pa. - In a battle that featured 18 lead changes, Immaculata University came out victorious 60-53 against Marywood University Wednesday in Atlantic East Conference women's basketball. The loss brings the Pacer's record to 8-12 (2-5 AEC), while the Mighty Macs improve to 11-9 (4-2 AEC). 

In the back-and-forth bout, Marywood took a two point lead into halftime, up 30-28. 

Immaculata would go on to out-score the Pacers in both the third quarter (13-12) and the fourth quarter (19-11), catapulting their victory. 

With both teams making 22 shots a piece, the difference came at the free-throw line. 

The Pacers shot 22-65 (33.8%) in total, 6-12 (50%) from beyond the arc, and 3-7 (42.9%) from the charity stripe. 

Faith Kendricks led Marywood with 10 points, shooting 4-8 (50%) from the field, including a 2-2 (100%) clip from three.

For Immaculata, Reese Mullins paved the way with 20 points (6-11, 54.5%). The Mighty Macs shot 22-61 (36.1%) overall, 4-13 (30.8%) from three, and 12-17 (70.6%) from the line. 

The Pacers did win the rebound battle 46-41, with Stephanie Klemick recording a career high 13 boards, which led both teams. 

Mia Blume accounted for nine of Marywood's 15 assists. 

The Pacers will look to bounce back next Wednesday, as they travel to New Jersey to take on the Cyclones of Centenary University.
