Marywood Swept by Neumann, John Jay in Aston

Aston, Pa. — Marywood University lost a pair of women's volleyball matches on Saturday. The Pacers suffered their first Atlantic East Conference loss in a 3-1 setback versus Neumann University and lost 3-0 to John Jay College. 

Match 1: Neumann 3, Marywood 1

The Knights prevailed by scores of 18-25, 25-10, 25-7. 25-17.

Casey Hagerstrom led the Pacers with eight kills and a .227 hitting percentage. 

Autumn Savitski provided six kills and a .176 attack mark, and Jaedyn Laws totaled 14 assists and nine digs.

Defensively, Peyton Fischer tallied 20 digs. 

Neumann dominated the service game with a 19-3 advantage in aces. 

The Knights' Nayeli Cruz and Melissa Eddy each provided 12 kills. Dani Smith had 42 assists. 

Match 2: John Jay 3, Marywood 0

The Pacers lost by scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-21 to the Bloodhounds. 

Libby Smith led the offense with eight kills and two block assists. Hagerstrom totaled eight points with three aces. 

Fischer netted 10 digs. Ryleigh Hart blocked five shots. 

The Bloodhounds' Josanne Lewis had a double-double of 18 kills and 11 digs. 

Marywood travels to Albright College on Thursday.
