Marywood Splits Home Tri-Match, Stays in Playoff Hunt

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University split a pair of Atlantic East Conference matches Saturday in a home volleyball tri-match. The Pacers (6-18, 2-2 AEC) stand in third place in the conference standings. 

Game 1: Marywood 3, Centenary 1

The Pacers defeated the Cyclones by scores of 25-13, 25-17, 19-25, 25-13. 

Casey Hagerstrom totaled 12 kills and 17.5 points. She committed just two errors for a .500 attack percentage. Hagerstrom added three aces, three total blocks, three assists and six digs. 

Ryleigh Hart and Libby Smith each tallied nine kills. Bethany Burns and Autumn Savitski both produced seven kills. 

Jaedyn Laws manufactured 25 assists, and Libby Zick tacked on 14 assists. Laws netted a double-double with 10 digs. 

Defensively, Peyton Fischer scored 16 digs. Julia Strohm contributed 10 digs. 

Marywood had 17 aces in the match. Strohm and Laws each had four aces. Fischer counted three aces. 

Centenary received 12 kills and 11 digs from Jenny Thistlethwaite. Vanessa Pagano had 25 assists and 11 digs. 

Game 2: Marymount 3, Marywood 0

The first-place Saints took care of the Pacers by 25-11, 25-17, 25-15 scores. 

Casey Hagerstrom led Marywood with five kills and a .273 attack percentage. 

Marymount's Johanna Modica led the Saints with seven points. 

Marywood travels to Alvernia on Halloween.
