Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University ended its record-breaking season with a 3-1 loss to No. 9 University of Scranton Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament. The Pacers finish their season with a 15-4-2 overall record.

The Royals will take on Wesleyan (Conn.) in the second round.

Scranton added to the lead in the 25th minute, scoring on a corner kick to extend the margin to 2-0. Graduate students Niamh Healy and Mary Haggerty connected into the left side of the net.

In the 35th minute of play, Healy added a brance by converting a penalty kick.

Caroline Plank took the free kick for the Pacers, passing to Britlyn Higgins who then found Josephine Sorce in front of the net for the score. With the goal, Marywood pulled within two at 3-1 and took a bit of momentum into the locker room at halftime.
