Marywood Rolls Manhattanville, Advances to AEC Final

Pacers will host Championship match on November 9

Scranton, Pa. - Top-seed Marywood University cruised into the Atlantic East Conference Championship next weekend after dismantling Manhattanville College 11-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Pacers improved to 13-6 on the year and will host the winner of the 2/3 game between Immaculata University and Gwynedd Mercy being played later today.

Cydney Lahr had seven points on three goals and a helper for the Pacers. Lany Straub added a hat trick of her own and Maria Tomada had two goals and an assist for five points.
Corrin Hasty had two assists for Marywood while Belle Coleman and Emma Wagner each had a goal. Livy Mahoney also added her first career assist in the win.

Marywood opened the scoring with 6:06 left in the first quarter when Lahr scored a short-handed goal on a penalty corner. The eventual game-winning goal came from Straub in the 24th minute of play, and Marywood would add two more goals in the next five minutes from Straub and Lahr to take a 4-0 lead into half.

A six-goal third put the game out of reach, and Coleman closed the scoring on the day for the Pacers with a goal in the 46th minute of play.

Fiona Doherty scored with just over a minute left in regulation for the visitors to break up the shutout bid.

Marywood had a 37-3 advantage in shots, which included a 27-3 mark in shots on goal. The Pacers also had 20 corners to three for the Valiants.
