Marywood Defeats Shoremen for Fourth Win in a Row

Brendan Franko named Electric City Classic MVP

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University men's basketball won its fourth game in a row with a 74-66 victory over Washington College on Saturday in the Electric City Classic. The Pacers improve to 5-1 overall on the season. 

Marywood won a share of the tournament title with Keystone College winning both of its games against the Shoremen and St. Joseph's University Brooklyn. The Pacers defeated the Giants 91-67 on the road on Tuesday. 

Brendan Franko was selected the Electric City Classic Tournament Most Valuable Player. Trevor Seitz was named to the All-Tournament Team. 

Franko finished with 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists. He was 7 for 11 from the field. 

Seitz added 11 points. Corey Perkins dished out six assists. 

Shilo Bivins had three dunks as part of a 12-point effort. Bivins was a perfect 6 for 6 from the field. 

Defensively, Austin Bausman had a plus-minus rating of 25 in 26 minutes on the court. Bausman had eight rebounds and eight points. 

Marywood shot 42.4 percent from the field. The Pacers were an electric 56.25 percent through the first half and managed a win despite shooting 25.93 percent during the second half. The Pacers made 94.4. percent (17 of 18) free throws. 

Marywood led the Shoremen 36-20 in points in the paint.

Nolan Waldon had 18 points for Washington. Ben Costello added 14 points. 

Marywood hosts Wilkes University on Tuesday.
