Pacers Concede in Semifinal Match Against Marymount

Marywood ends season with a 6-9-4 record

Arlington, Va. — Fourth-seeded Marywood University suffered a season-ending 2-0 loss to No. 1 Marymount University on Wednesday in the Atlantic East Conference men's soccer semifinal.

After two-thirds of a scoreless game, Marymount tallied two late scores in a two-minute span to grab a 2-0 lead. The Saints were able to keep the Pacers quiet for the last fifteen minutes of the match. 

After a scoreless first half, the clubs came out hot with many opportunities for each. 

The scoreless tie was broken in the 76th minute as the Saints took the 1-0 advantage. 

Marymount extended this lead to 2-0 in the 79th minute. 

The Pacers were out-shot 14-8, and 8-5 on target. 

The Saints also led in corner kick opportunities 6-2. 

Niko Leibkuchler recorded six saves while in net for Marywood. 

Marymount keeper, Bayron Banegas, collected four saves of his own. 

With the defeat, the Pacers' season came to an end, as their final record ended at 6-9-4.
