Peck, Mangan Earn Runner-Up Finishes at AEC Championships

Marywood takes fourth out of seven teams in final standings

St. Mary's City, Md. -- Marywood University's Aubrey Mangan and Sam Peck both had a pair of second-place finishes this weekend at the Atlantic East Conference Women's Swimming Championships. The Pacers were in fourth place out of seven teams with 318 points.

Marywood beat Immaculata for fourth place by one point. The Pacers surpassed the Mighty Macs in the last race with a third-place swim in the 400 free relay. Mangan, Molly Englehardt, Emerson Gellert and Peck finished in 3:52.03.

Peck earned second place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:23.96. Peck dropped 1.49 seconds off of her seed time. She also produced a runner-up performance in the 1650 free, clocking in at 19:36.21.

Peck also came in fourth place in the 100 butterfly with a prelim time of 1:02.78. Her time ranked fourth in school history.

Mangan finished in second in the 100 breaststroke. Her 1:11.18 time was third all-time at Marywood. She dropped 10 seconds in the 200 breast to earn second place in the 200 breast. Mangan recorded a 2:35.12 that ranks third all-time at Marywood.

Mangan was fourth in the 200 free with a time of 2:04.67. Her performance tied Kristen Vitale's 2012 time for fifth in school history.

Gellert swam to a fourth-place finish in the 500 free with a 5:39.88 finish. It was a 17-second time from her seed time. Gellert jumped three spots from her preliminary swim. She followed Peck for fifth place in the 100 butterfly, tabbing a 1:04.54 finish.

Englehardt logged a fifth-place swim in the 50 free, touching at 26.78 seconds. She was sixth place with a 58.08 preliminary time. Englehardt earned third place in the 1650 free at 19:39.17.

Marywood's 200 medley relay was third place with a mark of 1:58.92. They were also third in the 800 free relay in 8:27.76.

Peyton Fischer slashed seven seconds off her prelim time in the 100 free, finishing with a 1:10.37.
