Marywood Falls to King's in the Rain

The Pacers nearly overturn four-goal deficit in the fourth period

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University lost to King's College 6-5 Wednesday in a rainy men's lacrosse non-conference matchup. The Pacers fall to 1-3 on the season, and King's ends a 37-game losing streak.

Trailing by four goals heading into the last period, the Pacers nearly forced overtime, scoring three consecutive goals in less than five minutes.

Nick Ericson finished with three goals and an assist for four points. He had seven ground balls. Ericson finished 8 for 14 from the faceoff x.

Trailing 6-2, Ericson scored his first career hat trick at the 10:36 mark. He then assisted Aiden Kilkenny on a goal to move the Pacers within two (6-4) at 6:26. Thirty-eight seconds later, Jake Plokhoy scored on a Dominic Cottone feed to move within one goal.

Zach Pramik picked up the ground ball on the ensuing faceoff, and Cottone's shot was stopped by the King's keeper. With the game on the line, Jackson Campbell made three stops.

Dalton Gerver forced a caused turnover to give the Pacers one last chance at sending the game into extra time. Ericson's shot was blocked, and the Monarchs' Jon Wiedow dove to the line for the game-clinching ground ball.

Nick Baker finished with six ground balls. Cam Hallett tallied four ground balls.

Gavin Ammlung made five saves in the loss.
