Smith Reaches 100 Goal Club, Breaks Single-Game Records to Down Cyclones

Marywood ties record for most single-game goals

Scranton, Pa. -- Marywood University sophomore Kaitlyn Smith broke the single-game goals and points records to help the Pacers to a 27-7 win over Centenary University Tuesday in Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse. Smith became the 11th player in school history to reach the 100 Goal Club. 

Marywood won its third game in a row. 

Smith scored a school record 10 goals and 14 points in the game. She added four assists, five ground balls and 13 draw controls. Smith went 6 for 7 in free-position attempts. 

She broke Diana D'Achille's 2011 record of 12 points. Smith surpassed the goals record of nine set by Molly Yelencsics (2020) and Taylor McKeown (2010). 

Avery Meighan scored four goals and five assists for nine points. She added 17 draw controls.

Kortney Harry matched her with nine points, scoring seven goals and two assists. Olivia Stollsteimer registered three goals and two assists. 

Haley Abraham scored her first career goal. Felicia Pescatore scored twice. 

Defensively, Abraham and Emily McLaughlin had four ground balls. 

Dyani Alonso led Centenary with two goals and an assist. Nora Dornich and Skylar Hardy had a pair of goals and four ground balls. 

Marywood (6-6, 2-0) tied a single-game school record with 27 goals. 

The Pacers take on Cabrini University Saturday in a rematch of last year's Atlantic East championship game.
