Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Women's Tennis Falls to Marymount in Atlantic East Championship

Aston, Pa. — Marywood University lost to Marymount University 5-0 in the Atlantic East Conference women's tennis championship on Saturday. The Pacers finish the season with a 6-5 overall record. 

The Saints swept the doubles matches with 8-1 wins in the first and second doubles. Ariane Kombour and Sofi Plotkin won 8-2 over Gabby Nunez and Meilei Cianfrocco in No. 3 singles. 

Marymount closed the match with singles wins in the No. 2 and 3 flights. Sofia Lucero beat Kylie Kilgore 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 2 slot, and Avery DeFazio beat McKenna Seavey 6-2, 6-1 at third singles. 

In the incomplete matches, Cianfrocco led by 6-2, 1-5 scores in the No. 6 singles. Cat English trailed 4-6, 0-3 at No. 5 singles. Faith Kendricks lost her first set 6-7 in a tiebreak. Nunez trailed 4-6, 0-3.
