Drew Smith's first career goal proves game-winner in 84th minute

Madison, N.J. -- Marywood University sophomore Drew Smith came through with a game-winning goal to lead the men's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham. It was Smith's first career score.

The Pacers overcame a pair of FDU-Florham penalty kick goals.

Smith executed the go-ahead goal in the 85th minute. On a set piece attempt from 50 yards out, Danny Gomez boomed a ball that evaded a crowd of Pacers and Devils. Gutierrez's feed found Smith, who headed the ball into the lower right corner.

Marywood took its first lead in the 70th minute. Drew Smith headed an Alex Visha corner kick to the far right side of the frame to take a 2-1 lead.

FDU-Florham took an early lead in the fifth minute. Dilon Toska made a penalty kick goal to take a 1-0 advantage.

Ethan Vogt scored the Pacers' equalizer in the 34th minute. Kyle Falcon hit a short-ranged shot that was blocked out by the Devils' keeper. Vogt sent the rebound back into goal to square the score at 1-1.

The Devils' Irfan Kermalli tied the game at 2-2 on a penalty kick in the 78th minute.
