Pacers Kick Off Conference Play With Eighth-Straight Victory

Morrison records her fifth shutout

Scranton, Pa. — On Saturday afternoon, the Marywood University women's soccer team played host to Neumann University in the first conference game of the season. 

The Pacers (10-1, 1-0 AEC) came out victorious, boasting a 2-0 shutout victory over the Knights (2-8-2, 0-1 AEC). 

The Pacers grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the 14th minute, as Bryn Stiles was able to finish off a pass from Faith Meals. 

In the 29th minute, Stiles struck again to extend to the Pacer lead to 2-0. 

Carly Walters was credited with the assist on the second Marywood score. 

In total, the Pacers out-shot the Knights 11-7 (5-3 on target). 

Riley Bittenbender, Carly Walters, and Bryn Stiles each had two shots a piece. 
 
Marywood also led in corner kick opportunities, 7-1. 

Pacers keeper, Genevieve Morrison, collected three saves on the day, keeping the shutout intact. 

Marywood looks to continue stacking wins on Wednesday as they travel to Saint Elizabeth University.
