Pacers End Up Defining Season as AEC Runner-Ups

Marywood ties school record with 25 wins

Arlington, Va. — Marywood University wrapped up its record-tying volleyball season with a three-set loss to Marymount University Saturday in the Atlantic East Conference championships. The Pacers played their first championship game since the 1993 season. 

Marywood matches the program record with 25 overall wins. The Pacers last achieved 25 victories during the 2003 season. 

The Saints ousted the Pacers by 25-21, 25-19, 25-17 scores. Marymount has won six of the seven Atlantic East volleyball championships. 

Genevieve Pollock finished with a team-high eight kills. Carolina Samaniego matched her with eight points. 

Ayla Bransford produced 29 assists to finish the season with 901. She sits second all-time in single-season assists. 

Marymount's Hailey LaBonte had 18 kills and an error with a .586 hitting percentage. She had a double-double with 14 digs. Johanna Modica produced 10 kills and a .381 attack mark.
